Does anybody have an idea where I might be able to locate any audio clips of Roscoe Morton announcing at AirVenture? It doesn't matter what year or how long.  I'm just looking to find something I can put in  my collection of audio files.

I think we may have something in the EAA Radio archives.  Any special requests?

Also congratulations to Roscoe for his EAA President's award this year recognizing his many years of dedicated service.  EAA Air Show announcers since 1963!

That show of emotion from Roscoe when he got the President Award was awesome.  Shows how much AirVenture and Oshkosh mean to so many people.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your response to my query.  I suspected that somebody would have some idea where to get a couple of audio clips of Roscoe announcing at AirVenture.  I really didn't have anything specific in mind that I am looking for.  It's just that as my "EAA Folder" grows on my iMac with pictures or videos or maps, etc., that the rememberance (I just invented that word tongueout ) of Roscoe announcing back during my very earliest trips to Oshkosh back in the early and mid 70's came to mind.  And I thought it would be nice to be able to add something in the way of a couple audio clips to my collection.  I wouldn't imagine that  you have anything that far back, so really anything you have would be very much appreciated.

And Yes!  I couldn't agree with you more regarding congratulations to Roscoe for receiving this year's EAA President's Award.  Roscoe was already an "icon" back in those days when I first began attending EAA.

Thanks so much, Steve.

Russ

P.S. Oh, and by the way, I wanted to express my heartfelt thanks and "job well done" for this Oshkosh365 website. I initially began feeling the "Post-Oshkosh" blues both when we had to depart Camp Scholler Friday night to return home, and when I watched as AirVenture 2009 began winding down Sunday on the webcam.

But having access to this site (as well as being able to continue listening to EAA Radio), I am managing to feel much more "connected" this year. I sincerely appreciate the efforts from everybody that worked in putting this all in motion.

I don't have anything from AirVenture (one of these years I hope to make it there) but I have some video I shot a few years ago at Sun-n-Fun of Jim Leroy's routine, and if memory serves Roscoe was announcing.  I'll have to dig it up and get back to you.

EAA Radio probably has several hours over the years of Roscoe calling the Airshow...it will take some extensive combing of the Raw tapes...

Expect a few selected clips for a tribute...the "Definite Roscoe" collection will take more time...

We also may post the "Definitive Yodeler" collection...EAA Radio probabaly has the most extensive recordings of Bill Ricketts since we used to begin our broadcast each morning with him live...
