Currently one of my favorites is "Johnny Come Lately" by Steve Earle, which is largely about a P-47 pilot in England. Pink Floyd's "Learning to Fly" is always a great one. What are some of your favorites?

Since my current project is a Double Eagle, I'm learning to play "Under the Double Eagle" on my banjo.

Another vote for "Learning to Fly" by Pink Floyd. Written and performed by an EAA Member, too! It's my dream that one day we will see Dave Gilmour perform it at Oshkosh.

I vote for any and all of the songs on Dwayne O'Brien's CD "Song Pilot". These are great!! Each and every song touched me in some way. the CD is available at this link and others;

This CD includes the song "We Remember". This is the song that's played during the Heritage Flights at AirVenture and other events.
Great stuff!!

EAA Member John Denver's little known song "Flight (The Higher We Fly)" puts the poem "High Flight" to music and encapsulates any Aviator's Love of Flight. John Denver also did a tribute song to the Challenger crew that is very touching that I have always loved. "Flying for me" that echoes the sentiments of almost all of us who are a part of the "Moonshot" generation and grew up watching our heroes riding rockets

Good choices! I prefer the Husker Du version of Eight Miles High though:

That video of tree top flying is REALLY REALLY REALLY COOL!!! I saw that for the first time about a year ago and it gave me goosebumps. Looks like some kind of RV.

A few more:
Flying -- Beatles (1967) [Magical Mystery Tour album]The Letter -- Boxtops (1967)
Travelin' Band -- Creedence Clearwater Revival (1970)
The Letter -- Joe Cocker (1970)
Dog and Butterfly -- Heart (1978)
In the Eyes of My Dog -- Martin Mull (1973) No lyrical connection to flying here, but it was recorded live at 30,000 feet during a performance in the first-class upper-deck lounge of a 747. Now that's unique!
CAVU to you!
