To me, the most exciting aviation story of 2009 was my own. I finally was able to purchase a ready to fly Ultralight and began flying it. After years of preparation, and being held up by Sport Pilot and money issues (Not enough of it), I am doing what this is all about, I'm flying.

To me the most exciting aviation story was Canadian Centennial of Flight, where Canada celibrated 100 years of aviation in Canada 1909-2009. Vintage Wings rebuilt and flew Hawk 1 ( F-86) Saber and flew it on the Snow Birds tour this year.

Silver dart flown of the same Lake at Baddeck NS on 22 Feb 2009 just as it had 100 years earlier.

Link to other events in Canada for 2009 and aircraft built in Canada.

Enjoy.
