I'm visiting Brisbane, Australia for two months. It's a beautiful city surrounded by breathtaking scenary - miles of pristine beaches, islands, spectacular mountains, rainforests and lush hinterland. I've explored most of this by car or bike and would love to experience this from the air. There are plenty of commercial operators offering scenic flights but that can get very expensive very quickly. I'm hoping to find a local pilot with a plane who'd be interesting in showing a fellow pilot around the area.
I'm happy to pay for flight expenses eg. fuel for the plane and the pilot.
Also, I'll take this opportunity to offer any fellow pilots visiting my home base in Toronto Canada to come flying with me when I return. I own a Flightstar ultralight and love to share the experience of flying low and slow over beautiful southern Ontario.
p.s. I've lived in Australia in the past and hold a RA-Aus pilot certificate.

The RAA has a list of all the flying clubs on their register for southern queensland and if you are a member they are usually listed in the monthly magazine sent to all members.
The GOLD COAST SPORTS FLYING CLUB is located between the Gold Coast and Brisbane and is within easy flying to the coast and beach / islands. You can become a social member for $75.00 .
This gives you access to the club and members who could help you with flying etc. If you still hold a valid RAA pilots certificate you are insured to fly in Australia. You will need this to operate out of GCSFC but may need to also join as a full member if you fly yourself.
There is also Boonah and Watts Bridge inland a few miles and listed in the magazine

I didn't find any local pilots to bum a ride from but I was able to rent a Jabiru and Gazelle to go flying with a friend around the Bribie Island and Glasshouse mountains area near Caboolture, QLD.
Made a video of the first flight that you might enjoy:
