Norman has been immortalized in a
newspaper (Belfast Telegraph) cartoon today. (April 19) As the rest of Europe and
beyond is a no fly zone Norman flies on, arriving in Nagpur, central India. The cartoon suggests if he was back at
home in Northern Ireland he could offer his services to holiday makers wanting
to head for the Mediterranean sun. This of course would be at a
slower pace, one at a time with some stops in France or Italy - sounds good!

Surplus intends to visit 26 countries and fly
about 27,000 miles, including 4,300 miles over water, over the next four
months. Norman is navigating with a pair of Garmin 496 GPS units but also
carries a Spot GPS unit which integrates with Google Maps so anyone can view
his current position online. He has a blog to provide daily updates
and links related to the trip. For more details, visit www.GyroxGoesGlobal.com.
