This guy is most likely European... and maybe the reporter as well. So it may be IFR and a Bonaza G36 is a nice airplane.

Actually, Matthew Fox is an American, but you may be right about the reporter. And I agree that the G36 is a nice airplane ... but I'm guessing it's not much of a glider.
