What did Piper do to the Sportcruiser to add over 120 lbs? I saw on the Piper website that the useful load on the Pipersport is 480 lbs but the SportCruiser was 600+. What happened?

possibly an initial overrating of the planes specs? i have quite a bit of experience flying sportcrusiers and they printed out revisions of their poh's fairly often with differing data. going through the equipment i cant really see any differences.

They added a standard BRS system, for one thing. That's got to be 50-60lb right there.

My father-in-law has a SportCruiser with the BRS and the useful load is 486 lbs.
