The owners of Skunkie,
a B-25C currently under restoration at
Owens Field in Columbia, South Carolina, are searching for a new home for the
bomber. A county commission ruled the newly formed S.C. Historic Aviation
Foundation (SCHAF) could not return the aircraft to the historic but
dilapidated Curtiss-Wright Company hangar on the field.
The commission forced
the previous owners to move the aircraft outside to avoid liability as the 1929
hangar, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, has holes in the
roof and is missing windows. SCHAF purchased Skunkie last month from the Celebrate Freedom Foundation, and needs
$1 million to restore the B-25; the hangar restoration will need $3 million. Full story from The State

Bill,
I don't have a contact number for the South Carolina Historic Aircraft Foundation, however if you contact EAA 242:
eaa242@sc.rr.com
They could probably point you in the right direction.

The S.C. Historical Aviation Foundation can be reached through their president's law firm office at (803) 400-1921. SCHAF president's name is C. Cantzon Foster. That'd be great if you could help them out Bill!
