Here's a quick update about where things are:

We've chosen the forum software and the hosting company, and, as of last week, got the plan and the budget approved by our senior team, so we will be relaunching the forums on a market-leading, fast, and, most importantly, usable platform.

There are a number of tasks that have to be completed as part of the transition, including a couple that are proving to be really tough to estimate, timewise - archiving existing posts, for example - until that work begins. Because of this, we don't have a date to announce yet. I would love it if we could get everything done prior to AirVenture - as of this moment, I can't promise that, but I can promise that our IT and design teams will be doing their best to make that happen during what is already an exceptionally busy time.

More info as I get it - nobody is looking forward to relaunching *your* forums more than me.

Thanks everyone -

Hal

My profession is Web developer, and I've got more than a little drupal/wordpress/sharepoint/.netnuke experience, and I will be happy to beta test as well.

Ouch!

Hopefully the new software will be able to impose severe penalties for posts like that one.

I've sent direct email invitations to each of you, but, just in case ...

The new forum site is up and running!

It's a total new site / clean slate / fresh start, so we'd appreciate it if some of you could sign up, check it out, and get us some feedback ... and help us get the conversations started!

Like I've said to most of you in email - It's lean, simple, and fast, and, so far as we can ... it really works!

Give it a go at http://www.eaaforums.org

Thanks!

Hal

P.S. No, the Norris-Anti-Pun Filter isn't working quite yet ...
