Hi, I am Allie from Iowa....I became interested in aviation because my best friend Alicia loves everything aviation!!!  I will be attending AirVenture with her for the first time this year and thought it would be neat to meet other young men that share my interest.  I was hoping to propose a singles meet and greet but so far, I am the only one that is interested so that wouldn't be much of a meet and greet!  If anyone is interested in chatting at AirVenture this year, please IM me!

I'll be honest...I'm just now learning what an aileron is but I find planes fascinating...I love the people in the aviation community and would really like to meet someone that can teach me more about these beautiful machines!  I am a 21 year old college senior that is looking forward to traveling and enjoying life soon!  If you would like to get in touch, please feel free to email me at:

Hi Allie, I am interested in a singles event at EAA, so if you decide to plan one just let us know when and where!

If you all don't mind an old-fart single (27), I'd be down for a meet and greet.  I may have a few single guys going with me as well.

Hello All; I am a "mature" (57) widower and would like to meet unattached ladies that have an interest in aviation. So if you would welcome an older person count me in!

I been coming up that way since I was a kid and know a bunch of good spots for you all to hang out in town ...   The beer garden is very good with good food and live bands but the beer is a bit pricey...   But sometimes its worth sacrificing currency for convenience...

Best of luck !

Hi Allie and gang:

I think you're a litte outnumbered   That's favorable to you, and you certainly have interest in your idea!

I'll give you my suggestions if you'd like to pull something off.  You can't easily pick an event off the AirVenture agenda and say this is where it will be.  Maybe you could have taken registration ahead and secured a Gathering of Eagles table, but it's a bit late for that.  AirVenture is underway now, so I'll give you some location ideas that would work in this context:

  1. Pick a hangar.  There are many of them at Pioneer Airport.  There are many good locations around the museum in general.  Consider the Pioneer courtyard in front of Wittman hangar, maybe Compass Hill. . . you name it.
  2. It sounds like all of your attendees are over 21, so you could meet in the evening at the beer tent southeast of the museum.
  3. I don't have any really great ideas of locations inside the fence.  Everything is pretty busy and that would make this a challenge.

Then you just need a location and time.  I would check the AirVenture schedule to make sure that your meeting location is not going to be overrun with some other activity at that time.

I'm a full time AirVenture attendee this week, so say the word and I'm there!

All the best,

Nick

Obviously this is late, but I was at the beer tent SE of the museum.  Lots of great people to meet there and great conversation!  I always go by myself and have no problem finding people to talk to.

For some strange reason I do no fully comprehend (sarcasm), females seldom seem to have a problem finding people to talk to, especially at a beer tent. LOL

Ha ha.
biggrin  True.  I guess my point was that if you're a single woman at Airventure, you'll have no problems meeting people!
