Webcams!

psssst...Hal, Discovery World in milwaukee donated the use of all the encoding devices, the streaming bandwidth (which is currently at about 125Mbps) and well, a few days of my time for the 3 outdoor cameras.

The webcams are OUTSTANDING this year. After being there for 15 or so times and now in a wheelchair, this is the next best thing to being there. I have three windows open for frequency listening and three for webcams and I am enjoying myself tremendously. To the volunteers and sponsors that make this happen, THANK YOU!

WooHOOOOO!  I want IN on that.  Let me know, and we'll come up early and help out.  I'm not much good on a ladder anymore, but I can fiddle with gadgets and beat a keyboard with the best of 'em.

I gather EAA Membership is required this year to view the runway cams. That is sad as I am on very limited income and cannot afford it.

Still having trouble with the webcams.  I am an EAA member and can log into Oshkosh 365 but just getting the membership window under EAA Members only.  Sent a message to the contact us link.  A reply in 1 to 2 days!!

Hi Hal, seems they aren't working right now (9:49am Oshkosh Time June 26). Every time I open one the video just stops, every time I hit play it just stops instantly. Not sure if this is just too many people already on or something but thought I'd report it.

BTW nice seeing you working over here, too bad about the Aces team (was on the FSX beta, met you at the Canadian Aviation Expo in Oshawa in 2008).

all cameras are functional, there are about 500 people watching at the moment. 

Claude, the solution seems to be log off 365, clear cookies and log back into 365 members area the web cam banner should be visable at the top.

Any help on watching the webcams on my macbook ? I have tried safari and firefox and have not had any luck.

 Got it working very nicely..

Google search for how to play windows media stream on a mac.. Downloaded a plugin for quick time from the microsoft website ( flip4mac ) , set it to open a new window when launching media and it is working well.

Thanks Hal  for enabling my new EAA membership account to access the webcams.

Just checked them out  .. GREAT JOB  .. A significant improvement in Video  Quality  on last year. Nice to "see".

QUESTION: Will there be any sound on any of them. ?

Obviously hoping for sound later this evening from  the Theatre,   but  I hear no sound on any of the other 3 feeds.

Will the AIRSHOW Public Address system, and Airshow Commentary Audio  be  on any of the feeds,  in partricular  the Aero-Square feed.

One can use LIVE ATC to listen to the Controllers  on the 27-09   and  18-36   runway feeds,  but last year, I am sure I remember being able to hear  the Public Address system  somehow....   and that really brought the Airshow to life.

Hal- Did you guys move the AeroShell Square Cam? I remember looking almost down onto the WW-2 DC-3 and the Air Force Cessna/

Can you please be more specific.  I am also running fire fox 3.6 and have Windows Media installed and I've cleared the cookies.    I tried following your suggestion and I'm still getting a black screen.  Thanks for your help!

Wish they were in Sync with LiveATC.net.

Can someone tell me the Aricraft type that is seen on 18-36 cam when it is pointed north? Looks sorta like the Body of a twinstar.... but is a single prop(turbo)
