What is going on with the North 40???

So, I was suppose to fly up to OSH today, but that didn't happen due to the North 40 "not being open due to flooding".

What's going on now? It's been all day and there hasn't been a single useful update from the EAA, not on the parking status page, not on the blog, anywhere.

At this point, I am still planning to try again for tomorrow, but I would really like to be somewhat informed of what's going on. Not just glued to the computer watching #slosh10 on Twitter and listening to the ATC feed for any clue of an opening.

So please, someone fill all of us North 40 campers in on what' going on..!

Sorry if this message came off in an insulting manor, I'm just really frustrated with the way this is turning out. I was hoping to be relaxing in the beer tent right now eating some cheese curds or something. Not worrying about what the latest "parking status reports" say.

Thanks

I don't have any first hand knowledge .... but

As has been posted on other threads....

http://www.airventure.org/aircraft/parking_status.asp

A recorded message about parking : 920-230-7820

As of sunday night at 9pm they appear to be in a holding pattern on letting folks onto the grass.  GA traffic was being diverted all afternoon from KOSH due to lack of available parking on the ramps.

I haven't seen any posted specifically related to N40, but I assume it's closed pending drier conditions.

I'm a little late getting this posted, but I wanted to give you my impression from my visit to the North 40 this morning (Wednesday) around 11am.

There are still many soft spots, but things are definitely improving; this is even after some light showers moved through in the night. There were planes being parked in the North 40; they appear to be working from the west end of the south side of 9/27 where it's a little higher, and are moving to the east as the ground will allow. (They've used some areas on the north side of 9/27 for several days.)

Anyone considering making the trip should give it a try..... today seemed to have a lot lower humidity, and after the early morning clouds moved on, lots of sunshine. As I said, the grounds situation should only improve.
