less airshow would be bad. i love seeing the planes close up on the ground but the airshow is one of the main reasons I attend. if they shortened it, I, along with probably hundreds, or even thousands of others, would no longer feel the need to spend that kind of money on tickets.
I do, however, completely agree that the repetitiveness does get old.
With the tens of thousands of planes (and people) attending, and considered the biggest airplane convention in the US, you'd think EAA Airventure would plan things more advanced. There is no excuse for not being able to fill a 4 hour airshow much better. i was disappointed last year seeing the Iron Eagles and Matt Younkin performing both day AND night show. why not just have them perform during the night show and fill in the day show with more unique jets, warbirds, and vintage aircraft? I want to see some of these main static attractions also demonstrate or at least do flybys during the airshow. I'm also currently hoping Team Chaos performs on Saturday, because they're one of the most unique & entertaining performances in the world.
And, as someone previously suggested, we're there to see aircraft, not bands & singers. that money could be spent much more wisely.
