Hi,

I'm planning to build a VJ-22. I've studied everything on the web, but it would be really nice to see one up close before I send for the plans and buy materials. Is there any owner/builder in the Pacific states, NV, ID who wouldn't mind showing their bird. Even seeing a half-finished project, if it was far enough along to sit in it on a pillow would be useful in getting a feel of it. (I'll bring the  pillows.)

I live in northern CA but could travel a state or two away.

Happy Flying,

Mart

I moved this thread over from the Hangar Chat section, seemed to fit better in here.

I don't know of any around the northwest now. However I have flown in one back in the 70s that was built by Stan Woods on whidbey island. He built two of them and I was impressed with the way it handled. We took off from his 1200 ft grass strip and landed in the water and returned to his strip where my partner went for a ride. I had seen one for sale about 1967 in ferndale wa where the owner flew out of a 600 ft strip. It is definitely what I would build if I wanted a amphibian. I am building a Stol King right now because I was impressed with the stall speed with power of 15 mph.

Good luck

Tom Lane.
