Greetings to everyone.
I'm writing from Barcelona to ask for your help, I azap installed an engine hapi 1835. but the questions are many and I do not have the manual for this motor. Would it be possible to obtain the manual for this engine? Know the type of regulator / rectifier necessary, correct carburetor .... etc. Thank you very much from the Mediterranean Sea.

Hola David (sorry, no Catalan here),
HAPI was bought by Mosler which became Total Engine Concepts (TEC) a company which still exists. They have been out of the VW aircraft engine business for a long time and may not even be the same people anymore, but it can't hurt to ask: http://totalengineconcepts.com
If that doesn't work, I'd suggest Great Plains Aircraft Supply Company. Steve Bennett is a fantastic resource and usually very helpful. Still, he might be inclined to suggest you buy one of his engines rather than spend time helping you with somebody else's engine. If I were you, I'd first buy a copy of his Type 1 Assemby Manual (he has DVDs too, but maybe not in PAL format) which would be useful to you in any case. The manual will only cost you about 20 Euros including shipping. Then, having established yourself as his customer, you could contact him for additional advice and probably parts to get your engine running. http://www.greatplainsas.com
Cheers and good luck,

Hi Matthew, in Catalan Mateu :-)
Thank you very much for your advice, I got in contact with Great Plains, but not being client would not help me, so I'm searching the net for the original manual Hapi and its electronic ignition system as well as the alternator ... .. uufffff ...
When you finally get it!
I've seen that interest planes Mignet formula, I've flown a few hours with a HM 100 Balerit and built the BestOff in Spain.
Greetings and thanks again

I think I have the manuals you are looking for. Unfortunately, I have recently moved and still have many boxes in a separate storage unit in a nearby town. So it could be a while before I could finally get to them. I am slowly emptying the storage unit as I unpack. I will certainly keep an eye out for the manuals and try to get to them first. Keep looking, but if all else fails, contact me and let's see if what I have will help. They were two HAPI manuals on how to build a safe aero-VW engine. I'll try to go look for them next week. If I can find them, I'll be glad to send them to you for the cost of postage. My email address is:

Mateu is just fine with me, thanks. Yes, I know the Balerit and have flown in one myself once. Like I said, Steve is a good guy, knowledgeable and helpful, but of course he does not have a lot of incentive to help you with somebody else's engine.
