Hi All,
In the June 2011 Sport Aviation there is an article entitled "Mod Masterpiece" about Greg Hales' extrordinary RV-10. It is mentioned that he used some automotive slide out cup holders. I would like to buy a pair of these for my project. The only trouble is that I can't find find any on the internet. Does anyone have any idea where I could get some? Plastic or metal is fine.
Thanks,
Hal

Sorry, this is not an answer to your question, but a comment. When I read about his using a slide out cup holder from a car, I was surprised. I have never seen a slide out cupholder in a car that I would expect to stand up to turbulence while flying. Of course, I don't ride in luxury ($$$) cars. Maybe they have more robust designs. I just picture grabbing the cup just as I hit a serious updraft and jamming it down into the holder and snapping it like twig.

Hal,
I don't think it's an exact match, but take a look at the cup holders for the Subaru Impreza WRX. You can find them on ebay or on auto-parts sites.

While not slide out cup holders, these are easily adapted to most aircraft. The photo is a RV-10. http://aerosportproducts.com/cupholder.htm

I also found this page with some interesting options, but have not ordered any of them:
