Well, there's always EAA!  The guys in the Weeks Hangar have other volunteers that help out on a regular basis - they could probably find something for you to do there.
biggrin

Other options would be the Wisconsin Wing of the Commemorative AIr Force: http://www.cafwi.org/ , the Great Lakes Wing of the CAF based in the Chicago area: http://www.greatlakeswing.org/ , or the Warbird Heritage Foundation in Waukegan, IL: http://www.warbirdheritagefoundation.org/WHF_1000_0000_AboutUs.html .  I'm sure there are plenty of other organizations looking for good help.

You might want to hook up with EAA Warbirds Squadron #4, based in the Chicagoland area.

Visit:  http://www.warbirdsquadron4.org/

Best wishes,

I ;am aware of a t-28 project in Crystal Lake IL that might need some help.  If you are interested, email me and I'll get some particulars for you.

Hi Paul,

Have you considered volunteering at the American Helicopter Museum in West Chester?  http://www.helicoptermuseum.org/

Hello Mr. Volpe!

There are several warbird projects in need of your help in the northern IL, southern WI area.  There is a T-28 in Crystal Lake, a B-17 in Marengo, the CAF Wings in WI, IL, and IN.  Look up the folks at Warbird Squadron #4 (CO is Thomas Buck).  They can definately get you pointed in the right direction.

Welcome to the world of warbirds!!  We're glad you're here!  And we'd love to put you to work!!  :-)

Feel free to give me a call if you need further information.  847-226-0777
