For those DC-3/C-47 Enthusiasts, this is an excellent Dak website that was sent to me recently.

A terrific site, Anthony - thanks for sharing. Loved the pictures (and the story of the collision...!) of the 50th anniversary fly-past - 27 Daks!
"It is believed that this was the largest formation of Dakota DC-3 / C-47 aircraft to have flown since the Second World War and that this record still stands."
Hmm ... I wonder if something could be done about that this summer ...?!?!

Thanks Hal for the feedback. I would love that record of 27 Daks to be broken in 2010, if it's going to happen anywhere, the best location has got to be Airventure. I recall there are 25 confirmed Daks for Airventure, maybe the powers that be can get a few more planes to participate and break the record. I hope Basler will be participating. Thanks, Anthony.

Andy, that's good news, the more DC-3's that make it to Airventure, the more impressive the celebration becomes.

I'm a commercial aviation student in Calgary Alberta dn I'm actually doing a project on the DC-3. Has anyone here ever flown one and would you be willing to share some stories? Thanks!
And yeah, Dakota is actually my name
