January 13th 2010

My friend Ron Souch and I are building a full size Mystery Ship to the original plans drawn by Herbert Rawdon.  Our intention is that the aircraft will be accurate in every detail.  We expect the aircraft to be ready for its first flight in April 2010.  We intend flying and displaying the aircraft in England during this summer.

We have been in contact with the son and grandson of Walter Burnham, Herbert Rawdon's partner, who we hope will travel to England this summer to view the aircraft.  We would like to contact the descendants of Herbert Rawdon so that we can also invite them to visit.  We know that Herbert was married with children and had two brothers but we have not been able to make any progress in identifying his living descendants.

If any of Herbert's descendants read this message Ron and I would be grateful if they would contact us.

If anyone else reading this message knows any of Herbert's descendants can you please bring this message to their attention?  My contact details in England are:

Richard,

Great project!  I anxiously await its completion!  Regarding Herb Rawdon's descendants - you may want to try contacting the Arkansas Air Museum:  http://www.arkairmuseum.org/exhibits/exhibit-travelair.php

They have a special relationship with Travel Air aircraft and may even be able to put you in contact with someone from the Rawdon family.  Best of luck!

Zack

Richard,

I took the liberty of re-posting your request on another Web site - ancestry.com - under the Rawdon message boards. Hopefully a descendant is out there, and will contact you.

Thanks Hal!

We are currently planning to fly the Mystery Ship in England during 2010 and bring it to Oshkosh in 2011.
