A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the 68th Doolittle Raiders Reunion in Dayton, Ohio, which included a stop at Grimes Field in Urbana, Ohio for a gathering of seventeen B-25 Mitchell bombers - see my recap of that experience http://www.oshkosh365.org/ok365_DiscussionBoardTopic.aspx?id=1235&boardid=147&forumid=179&topicid=4295.
As side note, I am a member of an online forum about warbirds called the Warbird Information Exchange (WIX). One of the cool things about WIX is that whenever there is an air show or aviation event, WIXers always try to meet up. We did the same thing at the Doolittle Raiders Reunion. One of the fellows I met was Andy Heins, who just so happens to be the president of the National Waco Club and the curator for the Waco Historical Society Air Museum. He invited me and the rest of the WIX gang out to his hangar at Moraine Airpark for a cookout after the static display of B-25s closed down on Saturday. A fantastic time was had by all, but the real kicker was that we ran into each other on Sunday when we all went to watch the B-25s leave from the Air Force Museum, and Andy invited us all back a second time for another cookout. This time the wind cooperated and Andy, his wife Susan, and brother Pete gave my friends and I rides in their vintage WACO biplanes. It was truly an incredible experience and one that goes to show that aviation people are simply THE best! I shot quite a few photos of the airplanes - here are some of my favorites:

I should mention that this Sunday is Moraine Airpark's annual "Sunday Funday" event where anyone can go and have the great experience I did:
