This must go under the heading of "I have no idea why I just did that"...
Today after work I went to the hanger to check on how a fabric repair I did over the weekend turned out (last weekend something BIG hit the belly just in front of the tailfeathers and took out and inspection ring/cover, took an 14" patch to cover it...)

Anyway; a storm had just passed and the sky was blue the temp was cool(er) and I had an hour till sunset. Plane was gassed and ready. A call to the House Commander gained a hall pass till 9:PM so I decided an "air-test" was in order.
I launched with the sole purpose of just mixing the air a bit for an hour or so with maybe just a roll or two to exercise the oil system...after reaching 3500 at my personal/private designated acro area I did a roll or two, marveling at the display the setting sun made on the wings of my biplane. Then I did a loop using the setting sun as my pivot point...and it looked so cool I kept looping till I had done 22 in a row! Flying back to DTN I had a feeling I haden't had in a while; I realized I had a really good time doing something without much planning or forethought, just flying for the Hell of it and doing whatever came to mind (a sick mind, but a mind).
Driving home I wondered; "what the heck possesed me to do that?.
I didn't have an answer. But I hope it posesses me again!
