First, I want to say thank you to the EAA and the rest of you for making it possible for me to fly.
I'm one of those that can't get a Class 3 medical but has a Valid State Drivers License.
Now to my problem.
I can't seem to locate anyone to provide training for the Sport Pilot that has an aircraft I can rent to take instruction in that is closer than about a 2 hour drive, one way. I can find CFI's at my local airport that is willing to train me, but the local airport doesn't have any LSA for rent.
I live in Athens, Georgia. If you have any ideas that can help I'm open to hearing them.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Hi Greg -
Have you checked the list here?
http://www.sportpilot.org/instructors/georgia_1.html
I don't know my Georgia geography so I can't say how close any of them might be, but, if you haven't seen the list, it's worth a look.
Regards -
Hal

Thank you. I have looked at it and emailed those instructors. None of them with LSA to rent are closer than 1 1/2 hours the other side of Atlanta without traffic.

Try Habersham County Airport, it is an hour drive from Athens. Jim Tatum teaches light sport in a Taylorcraft L-2 (dco65). He is very reasonably priced and a load of fun to fly.

Thanks. After looking up the Taylorcraft I see that it's a taildragger to, awesome.
I sent you a PM asking if you had his number. Thanks for the help.
